Just over 1 week!

We are getting really excited! Everything seems to be coming together really well. We will be heading to Colorado Wednesday afternoon, and driving through the night. Gotta get the marriage license in Salida before Monday!
Stacy and everyone have been working on the reception invitations....and they are just about ready to be sent. The reception will be held at the Janesville Riviera Roose Community Center. Here are a couple maps: The first contains directions from Highway 20

We will post some updates as often as we can! We can't wait to see everyone either in Colorado, or at the reception!

Getting Closer!

Well....the time is getting REEEEEALLY close. We decided it was time for an update, since we ( I ) have been slacking on my blogging.
From what we've been hearing, most people have found lodging arrangements. Just in case you haven't I'm going to provide some links.

I was able to find a lot of different listings at all of those sites, and some were pretty reasonable. As of this moment, I haven't booked anything for us. I keep saying that I have all the tents and sleeping bags we need. However, that is being met w/ a bit of contention. Apparently adventure is not what Stace is looking for this trip.

We are also thinking of doing some white water rafting. We have gone w/ buffalo Joe's in the past, and had a great time. Other than the near death experience, it was awesome. Depending on who is all interested, we could do it. Check out Buffalo Joe's for rates and info. I really enjoyed "The Numbers" trip.

Stacy and I will be heading out to Colorado on Wednesday the 4th, and driving through the night. Most likely we will be staying w/ some friends in Buena Vista the first couple of nights, making it easier to get to Salida and get our marriage license.

I'm updating the links on the side of the page, and will provide a couple that go to our registries. We've had some questions about that.

We are getting very anxious for the big day and very excited to see everyone!

Just a quick update.....

The save the date cards have been mailed! Now we are just wishing that snapfish would have had a spell check! We are still working on lodging ideas. We still think it would be best to stay in the Breckenridge area. Now that we are through the holidays, and getting closer to the big day, we will be updating the blog more often.
For everyone that thinks they are going to be able to make it out to Colorado, please let us know what dates you are thinking of being out there. We are planning to be out there from Thursday, August 5th to Friday the 13th, or Saturday the 14th.

That's it for now.....Please check back for updates often!

Updates...

Hi Everyone! Thanks for taking the time to check out the blog updates. If you look to the right of the page, you'll notice some new pictures and some links to web-sites. I will update the links and pictures as much as I can. Right now the links point to informational sites for the Buena Vista and Nathrop areas of Colorado.

Many people have asked why we want to get married in this area when it is so far away. Well, honestly it's one of our favorite spots in the world! It's the destination we went to on our first trip together. We spent the day at the hot springs, and then headed to the FJ. We both looked over the edge of the parking lot and saw the area that is especially maintained just for weddings. It really is beautiful. We both looked at it, and then at each other. We knew that moment that was where we wanted to get married.

We also added a Google Maps of the Buena Vista to Breckenridge area.

More Updates Coming Soon!

Breaking News

This was the original posting that I made when I proposed to Stacy on October 24th.

AP WCF/- In an unprecedented move, a young man that is employed in the recently flood stricken community of Cedar Falls, Iowa, has decided to take is life in the direction of "happily ever after". After years of contemplation and consideration, many people including himself did not think this would ever happen.
The gentleman is known to be open and a friend to many people in the Cedar Valley. No one was available for comment, so we here at blogspot went right to the source. We were able to track down the young man at his home, where he had just returned from his weekend errands. We appeared to have caught him off-guard, and he tried to duck our cameras and run into his house.
After convincing the young man to come out and talk to us he was very brief and to the point. The following are quotes from our questioning:

Q: What made you come to this decision?
A: I've been thinking about it for a while, and to me this is just the right decision for the happiness and well being of both parties involved.

Q: How do you foresee this playing out in the future?
A: To me this is where my life has been leading for years. All I can see right now is a GREAT, and SUCCESSFUL future for everyone involved. It, of course, will not be easy, but with hard work....which if you ask anyone you'll find.....I'm very willing to and very capable of doing.

We left with one parting invitation for the young IT professional to share any comment. This is what he said.......

Stacy Lupkes, I love you, and would be the happiest man in the world if you would be wife. Stacy.....Will You Marry Me? (FYI..Dave said it was ok!!)
